Medicinal products marketed in Malta must have a Marketing Authorisation (MA) to be placed on the market. This is granted by the Medicines Authority (through national, Mutual Recognition or Decentralised Procedures) or by the European Commission (Community registrations granted through the Centralised Procedure).
Currently the three main types of registration procedures recognised for the granting of an authorisation to place a product on the market in Malta are:
Pharmacy operation and consultation
Metropolis Pharma is responsible for the pharmacovigilance of all medical products marketed in Malta by the company. Together with the Marketing Authorisation Holder the company ensures that all information and procedures are constantly updated and observed to maintain the quality service required by our clients to ensure the safety of their patients.
An experienced Brand Manager manages dedicated medical reps (pharmacist or science graduates) for each company represented, ensuring that local marketing plans are followed and clients are visited regularly. The reps give detailed medical information to medical and para medical professions during their visit, and any enquiry from the client is followed up immediately.
Distribution is done by Metropolis Pharma, and also through wholesalers.
